BIP, a Vida de um Cão & BIP! Onde Está o Coração

CRID, together with the Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, Associação Mão Guia and Associação São Francisco de Assis de Cascais, developed the multiformat books “Bip, a vida de um Cão” and “Bip! Onde Está o Coração?” aimed at all children.

“Bip, a Vida de um Cão” is written by Luísa Ducla Soares, with illustrations by Pedro Salvador Mendes. It has embossed images, printed in Braille, with enlarged font and has an audio version. It also includes a QR code that links to the Portuguese Red Cross School of Health page, where it is available in the audiobook version. The “BIP! Onde EStá o Coração?” by Eduarda de Sousa Pires, with illustrations by Maurício Hilgert, has in its genesis the concept of a book for everyone, bringing together in a single copy enlarged text, braille, relief images for blind children or children with low vision and pictograms for children with intellectual disabilities or limitations of another nature. It also includes the QR code that makes the audiobook version available.

The stories are simple and allow you to teach and reflect on the importance of affection in relationships with animals and also on the nature of animal abandonment. Presented in various reading formats, the books promote the active participation and inclusion of all children.
