“Piu Caganita” is the title of the first multi-format book that meets the reading needs of all children. It was written, illustrated and printed by illustrator Tânia Bailão Lopes and published by Briza Editora. The work brings together in a single copy enlarged text, pictograms, Braille, embossed images and a “QR code” that takes you to the website where the versões de audiolivro/videolivro in Portuguese Sign Language, and can therefore also be read by blind, deaf and intellectually disabled children.
The work was developed in collaboration with the Resource Center for Digital Inclusion – CRID and the Inclusion and Accessibility in Action Research Center – iACT, both from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, who were responsible for the translation and adaptation into pictograms.
