“COVID-19 is the designation given by the World Health Organization to identify the disease caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This new coronavirus was first identified in December 2019 in China, in the city of Wuhan. The initial cases of the COVID-19 disease were linked to a market in Wuhan (Wuhan’s Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market). The market was closed on January 1, 2020, but the disease progressed, triggering a worldwide epidemic or pandemic.”
